CompassionPit – email received

got this email in my inbox today.

Hello, I just want to say that Compassion Pit is one of the greatest things on the internet that I’ve ever come across. Compassion and understanding is something a lot of people lack in their daily lives, and to be able to give that to someone in a time of need (even if it’s through a chat room) is heart-warming. I hope that you continue doing what your doing and wish you the best.

so when is it gonna get me paid?

No idea how it will get *you* paid, but I’m pretty sure you can get your out-of-pocket costs covered with the right donation structure. Make 3 categories: Top 10 Donors, Latest 10 Donors, All Donors Earliest First. Set a minimum donation level of say, $5, with $10, $25, $$$ options. Give everyone a real link who donates. Donate 10% to women’s issues, 10% to men’s issues, and 10% to children’s issues. Use the rest for covering your overhead. This will definitely pay for your domain for your domain name, and probably pay for your hosting, and possibly your bandwidth.

This really isn’t a technical issue at this point, Zach, it’s a marketing issue. Ping me on Skype or LinkedIn if you want to talk more.
